After the hugely successful Nike Mercurial Vapor IV, the new mercurial V has arrived, in Australia Soccer and Football Store.
Introducing Nike Flywire
Nike Mercurial Vapor V football boots will incorporate Nike's
revolutionary Flywire technology. Nike Flywire was first introduced in
sport 2008, causning quite a stir at the Beijing Olympics due to its
lightweight but strong material and superb levels of foot support.
What does it mean?
The experts at the Nike Sports Research lab have taken inspiration from
the structure of a suspension bridge, where many cables provide
support. Flywire technology takes inspiration from this and uses light
weight, flexible and high tensile strength fibres to support the foot
in key points. By wrapping around the foot like tendons, in specific
key support areas as opposed to using layers to support the whole foot
– the Flywire football boot gives a glove like moulded fit, whilst
aiding boot flexibility. The end product is an amazing lightweight
speed Nike football boot!
Other Key Vapor Technologies
The Mercurial Vapor 5 has a whole host of other innovative
technologies, including re-designed direct injected PU studs. These
offer 360 degree traction and a superior level of turf grip. The Carbon
composite internal chassis gives greater flexibility and transfers
energy more efficiently to the studs, meaning instant acceleration.
The Teijin synthetic upper is engineered to adjust to your foot's shape
and the Mercurial Vapor V retains a synthetic lace cover to create a
cleaner ball strike zone area.
Following on from the huge success of the Mercurial Vapor IV, expect to
see such superstars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Ibrahimovic, Ribery,
Robinho, and Pato sporting the Nike Vapor 5's in early March. Premier
League and European players including Aaron Lennon, Theo Walcott,
Gabriel Agbonlahor, Ryan Babel, Adriano and Nicklas Bendtner will also
be upgrading to the new Vapor V football boots.
